The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Pre-Science programme was designed to provide intensive and most effective remedial and preparatory learning programme, to help post-secondary school students, who could not meet the requisite conditions for their programme of choice to prepare for, and be accepted into Nnamdi Azikiwe University Science programmes. It also provides them the opportunity to consolidate their basic knowledge in different subjects, master learning methods, strengthen their confidence, and enhance the effectiveness of learning, with the ultimate goal of achieving academic success. The programme is expected to provide a platform and enabling environment for optimal academic performance of students wishing to study Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Sciences and Technology, Basic Medical Sciences and courses in Biosciences, Physical Sciences, Agriculture, Engineering, Social and Management Sciences.
The Pre-Science Unit acknowledges that each student is different in terms of learning ability, academic standards and performance, thus, has adopted a robust academic curriculum in line with UTME standards to ensure holistic inclusive learning, tailored to meet individual needs of each student to enable them excel. At Pre-Science Unit, we adapt the way we educate to prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s future using 21st Century pedagogical approaches We therefore, work closely with the students to help them achieve their ambitions and create seamless pathway to university education and subsequent future career.
